Night vision monocular NZT-36M2
Description
Monocular night vision NZT-36M2 made at Rostov optical and mechanical plant is a night optics in miniature. This monocular is designed for ground observation and reconnaissance in natural night starlight, moonlight illuminationof (not more than 1 Lux) or total darkness. To operate in complete darkness one should use a built-in infrared LED illuminator.

Design features and use
Subminiature IIT ЭП64 belongs to the 1st generation of electro-optical converters. It has a multialkali photocathode with integral sensitivity 220 µa/LM and a yellow-green fluorescent screen. An image is very clear and has a good resolution (35 lines/mm) in the center of the field of view and slightly distorted at the periphery.
NV monocular NZT-36M2 works well in conditions of natural night illumination in the range of 0.05 Lux (¼ moon)— 1 Lux (late twilight). In the darkness and in low-light conditions, for example, 0.001 Lux (starlight moonless night), a built-in IR illuminator should be switch on.
Bright light entering the field of view impairs visibility or completely blocks observation. Functionality is restored in darkness in a couple of minutes. The lens cover protects the optics from bright light when switching on the device for a short periods (up to 3 minutes) the in illuminated area.
There are 2 operation buttons: one is to turn on the monocular and the other - for switchin on an illuminator. Rotation the eyepiece adjusts the sharpness of the screen of the IIT, rotation of the lens — sharpness of the objects located at the distance of 0.5 or more meters from an observer.
NZT-36M2 is a very lightweight and compact device (weight 180 g, length 10.7 cm) - fits in the palm of a hand, in between observations could be kept in a side pocket or attached to carrying strap.
